Summer Skincare Tips!

Hey Queens!

With summer here, which I am beyond excited for, comes some extra things you should be doing for you skin! Taking care of your skin is really important and during the summer with the sun being out and stronger it’s very important to keep it healthy and glowing! So here are some tips that I’ve come up with for you! I am not an expert on skincare but I hope these help you!


Probably the most important of all the stuff I will say. This is so important to put on and not just once but multiple times when your outside. I’m the type of person who ALWAYS forgets to put in on their face and then the next day it hurts like crazy. I like to use the stick sunscreen on my face and then the lotion everywhere else.

The amount of SPF you get is really up to you. Honestly it all depends on how tan you want to get lol. But I like to use 50% normally because my skin gets tan but is still very protected and if I do get sunburned I wont really hurt as bad.

A trick I’ve learned if you are sunburned is putting cold aloe vera gel where you are burned! It helps so much and would totally recommend doing it if you don’t already.

rinse or wash your skin every day

To be honest I don’t really wash my skin to often, but it all depends on your skin type. Every night I always rinse and scrub my face. Just to get any makeup or oils off from the day. During the summer you normally sweat a lot so just rinsing or washing your face every night to get all the sweat, oils, and dirt off from the day will really help you skin to stay hydrated and clean.

This isn’t something you have to do. I just like spraying it on every morning because it makes my skin glow and it helps it stay fresh but it is totally up to you.

drink a lot of water

Drinking water is not only super good for you but it helps you skin to stay hydrated and clear! My skin can sometimes get really dry during the summer but drinking water will help so much! During the summer it’s extra important to stay hydrated so please drink a lot of water! I try to drink at least 80 oz of water each day.

don’t do face masks all the time

I rarely use face masks same with washing my face, although I do wash it more often now. But I know some people use face masks every other night and stuff like that and if that works for your skin then that’s great! Keep on doing that. But I feel like it can get to the point where your face can be to clean because people use so much product on it. Your body produces natural oils that help your skin and using so much stuff on it strips that away. So just don’t be using products on your face all the time.

  3. Cool tips, Ainsley! My skin takes sooo long to tan, it’s insane! 🀣 my skincare routine is long (when I actually do it, LOL!) I cleanse, use a spray toner, use a serum, then moisturizer … and, of course, target treat (since I have a little acne.) but these days, I just try to cleanse and moisturize! πŸ˜‚

  5. I need to remember to put sunscreen on! Keep forgetting and I heard even on days when the sun isn’t noticably out it’s important to put it on anyway. I find that my ears get the worst of it and go warm, maybe because that’s more delicate skin so I need to form a habit of bringing a bottle with me. These are great tips, thanks for sharing and the reminder of what needs to be done here! πŸ€£πŸ’—
