Back To School Tips + Tricks

Hey Queens!

School is back in for me and I thought I would give you all some advice plus tips for this school year. I’m in high school and I know it can be stressful! I’m only a week in and I’m already overthinking things. But hopefully this post will help you with this school year!

pray before you begin school each day

This is something I started this year. I feel like it gets my mind and attitude right for the day and helps me have a better outlook. And that is not to say it’s just before I start. During math especially I may have to take a break a few times a pray because I don’t understand what I’m learning. It’s just something that I feel really helps with my attitude fore school because I know we all hate it at some point.

don’t get down on yourself

I feel like this is something that everyone tells you but it’s so true! When I was younger (and I still do this sometimes) I would get so mad at myself and frustrated when I would do bad on a test or do really bad on my lesson. Everyone has bad days. And honestly for me it happens more then I’d like but for me since I’m homeschooled I can easily just repeat the lesson or whatever. And if you are in school if you get a bad grade and can’t retake it or anything just brush it off and have a good mindset and be confident in yourself. You can do it! Just because you had a bad day doesn’t mean it’s going to ruin your school year.

try not and wait for the last minute to do things

Now depending on the circumstances you may have to. But waiting until last minute makes things so stressful. If you get whatever it is done early, you will be some much more relaxed. I for one would love to have a stress free school year but we all know that’ll never happen but that doesn’t mean we can’t try!

have fun

School is important. We all know that. But I feel like sometimes when the school year comes around we get so focused on it and forget to have fun inside and outside of school. Now school should come first if you have to pick between studying or hanging out with your friends. But maybe compromise and do your homework or school and then hangout later or the next day when it’s all finished.

keep the drive even in the middle of the school year

Everyone has that drive at the beginning of the year where they are going to work super hard keep their grades up. Then come the middle of the semester you are just burned out, lazy, or just have zero motivation. A good way to prevent that is to start off slow! The beginning of the semester is mainly review anyway. So start off slow so that when when that middle comes you my be a little unmotivated or burned out but not nearly as much!

tips

Here are a few tips for you!

  1. If you are having a hard time studying listen to music while you study.
  2. IT’S OKAY TO TAKE A BREAK!
  3. Having a schedule and sticking to it helps
  4. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. You’ll learn more by asking then by keeping your mouth shut
  5. Be confident in yourself!

I know you all are going to crush this school year! Love you all!

Are you excited for the school year? Have any other tips? Let me know in the comments!

Love,

Ainsley

  1. Love this post! You are so right about taking a break. Sometimes, all it takes to be all good again is to take a quick step back and then come back to it in like ten minutes.
